Denmark’s military intelligence head Lars Findsen has been suspended after it was revealed that the agency had broken laws and misled the intelligence watchdog. Two others have also been suspended it was reported Monday 24 August 2020 in Copenhagen. Defense minister Trine Bramsen also on Monday 24 August 2020 suspended head of department and designated future ambassador to Germany, Thomas Ahrenkiel, from duty.
The Danish Defense Intelligence Service is said to since 2014 have been spying on Danish citizens, passing on information about them, and failing to investigate allegations of espionage in the armed services.
